The orange color of Carnelian is Chalcedony colored by iron. Amber was once a sticky resin which oozed from ancient pine trees, and the flow became entrapped with dirt and debris. Through a process of heat and pressure it fossilized to become amber. This amber is between 40 and 60 million years old from the Baltic region.
